Instead of creating, printing and sending out Christmas card, we decided this year to help support those families that deal with missing one or more of their children during the Holiday season.
Below is what I wrote in an email to my friends.
Dear Friends and Family,
On Sunday we’ve set up and decorated our Christmas tree, while listening to Christmas music. Saturday evening we walked through a local Christmas market and drank Glühwein. Each day we watch the cold winter days turning early into dark evenings lit up with beautiful decorations everywhere.
Christmas is on our doorstep.
Similar to last year, we will send you this card-email instead of a printed card via the post.
With the expenses saved for each email we will donate one book “Grieving Parents: Surviving Loss as a Couple” to either
- Bears of Hope
- Heartfelt, Australia
- Royal Hospital of Women, Sydney
in honour of the support we received when delivering our daughters Ananda Mae and Amya Mirica.
We are sure that a book ‘in your name’ will reach a family in need.
(114 books at this stage!)Wishing you and your family a
Happy Christmas and New Year.Sending you our love,
Chris, Nathalie and Ananda MaeFor more info on the book: http://grievingparents.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Sell-Sheets_Nathalie-Himmelrich.pdf
